Las Vegas Municipal Airport (KLVS according to the ICAO and LVS according to IATA) is an airport owned by the city of Las Vegas. It is situated approximately 8 km (5 miles) northeastward of the central commercial district of Las Vegas. The airport is open to the public and it does not have air traffic control tower. It does not serve international flying. The airport covers 1,300 acres of territory and has two runways. Las Vegas Municipal Airport had 31 aircraft operations per day and 11,350 per year in accordance with 12-month period in 2006.
Las Vegas Municipal Airport serves mostly general aviation (97%). The airport owns 14 airplanes, which are multi-engine, single-engine aircrafts and jets. It is lighted land airport. In 2011 Las Vegas Municipal Airport was featured in the movie Haywire.
