About Alexandria International Airport (AEX, KAEX)
Situated five miles west of the downtown of Alexandria, in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, US, Alexandria International Airport is a public use airport operated and owned by the England Authority. Even though the airport doesn’t provide international commercial flight operations, it provides regular charter flights for the U.S. military to a great number of international destinations. The United Express, Delta Connection, and American Eagle are the major airlines with Houston, Atlanta, and Dallas/Fort Worth being the top destinations.
There are two asphalt and concrete paved runways and 49 aircraft based on the field, including helicopters, jet airplanes, multi- and single-engine airplanes. The major aircraft operations are local general aviation, military, commercial, transient general aviation, and air taxi.
