About Kona International Airport (KOA, PHKO)
Located on the Island of Hawaii, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, shortly Kona International Airport, is a public use airport in Kalaoa, in Hawaii County. Kona International serves Western Hawaii island, along with the resorts of the South Kohala and North Kona districts and Kailua Town. The airport is served by a great number of airlines, including Virgin America, United Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, and Alaska Airlines. Seattle, Kahului, Los Angeles, and Honolulu are among the top destinations.
Kona International Airport boasts a variety of facilities and is the only major airport on the Hawaiian Islands that has a mobile ramp. Even though the airport has a single runway, it allows flights to major destinations, such as Chicago and Japan. The aircraft operations include scheduled commercial, general aviation, military, and air taxi.
