Dassault’s flagship Falcon 8X is a large-cabin, long range triple, engine business jet manufactured by the French based Dassault Aviation was announced at EBACE 2014 in Geneva Switzerland. The 8X is built upon the incredibly popular Falcon 7X. The main feature customers of the 7X were asking for was delivered by the 8X, and that was a longer rang. This was made possible through slight engine modifications, aerodynamic improvements, and an increased fuel capacity. Passenger comfort is paramount to Dassault, while current airliners and even some business jets have cabin altitudes of 6,000 to 8,000 feet, the Falcon 8X keeps passengers at a comfortable 3,900 even while cruising at 40,000 feet.
Dassault added many airframe improvements including a new internal wing architecture that not only lightens the wing structure but adds to the fuel capacity. Improved winglets reduce drag to also improve efficiency. Dassault’s main objective was that no passenger space was sacrificed for the increase the fuel capacity. The custom made cabin management system, FalconCabin HD+, is available on most Falcon 8x. It gives passengers the control over their environment from anywhere in the cabin using their own devices.
